Your doctor can help you decide which medicine is right for you, and also talk to you about other steps you can take to prevent malaria. In addition, complementary preventive measures such as using mosquito repellant lotion is advised.

The government of Ghana requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travelers, except infants.

There is a clinic at GIMPA to provide basic care at a nominal fee. Serious medical cases will be attended to by a medical doctor on call. Where necessary, medical cases can be referred to certified hospitals in the Legon Area including the University Hospital which is only 10 minutes’ drive from GIMPA.

It is safe to eat fresh fruit. While the tap water is safe to drink, bottled water will be provided at the conference center. It is recommended that those who will reside in off-GIMPA accommodation should use bottled water which is available either for sale or complimentary at the hotels.

Ghana has an exciting diversity of cultures, foods, communities, tourist sites, and attractions.
